Mardles are a children’s brand that uses augmented reality in their fun and educational products. Having sold over 500,000 units, Mardles is a firm favourite around the world with their range of AR stickers, colouring books and masks.
When the concept was born back in 2014, we were asked to develop a child-friendly brand that would stand out in a very competitive market. In 2015, the first Mardles products went on sale exclusively on QVC, and sold out in the very first day!
We channelled our inner child to create a logo and brand that could suit a wide range of products that weren’t even invented yet. By using a bold, exciting typeface with subtle gradients and trademark eyes, the Mardles logo quickly became recognisable as a kid-first brand brimming with excitement and wonder.
Developing the brand further, we worked with the Mardles team on the idea of the “Mardles Universe”. All branded imagery and core brand products would include an illustrated scene as the base, igniting the imagination of children and broadening the possibilities of the Mardles Universe.
We’ve continued to work with the Mardles team, developing a wide range of designs for retail, including licensed packaging for Thunderbirds and Shaun The Sheep, as well as exhibition displays and the identities for their sub-brands DiscovAR and Mardles Rocks.
